How To Apply


To apply for Financial Grant Assistance you must meet
all of the following qualifications:


1. Complete an Application for Grant Assistance

2. Provide proof of financial need and explanation of extenuating financial
  circumstances.
  
    Examples include
  • recipient of medicare, or medicaid
  • recipient of Social security or disability benefits
  • recipient of unemployment
  • recipient of public assistance
  • other extenuating circumstances considered on a case by case basis
  • Note: When submitting proof, please black out any account numbers or personal identification numbers

3. Provide an estimate on veterinary letterhead that includes all of the following:

  • cat's name
  • cat's age
  • proof of neuter/spay  (we only accept applicants with spayed or neutered cats)
  • itemized breakdown of costs of treatment needed
  • prognosis
  • diagnosis of one of the following conditions:
  • Kidney disease
  • Heart disease
  • Thyroid disease
  • Mobility or Neurological Condition


GRANT POLICIES:

  • The mission of Cats in Crisis to assist individuals who have exhausted all other   financial means to provide the necessary medical care their cat needs. Due to the volume of  applications, we cannot help everyone. Decisions are based on several factors including:medical urgency, available funding, eligibility and financial need.   Our grants are meant for cats who have not yet received treatment.

  • Cats in Crisis cannot assist with the following:

- payment for treatment or services already rendered

- reimbursement for payments already given

-payment for outstanding bills or for a deposit needed

- payment for procedures not directly related to a special medical
  condition listed on our Grants page. We do not pay for vaccinations,
  spay or neuter surgery, general dentals etc.

  • Payment Policy: Grant funds are distributed directly to the treating veterinarian or pharmacy, never to the client.

  • Clients are expected to respond to all emails from Cats in Crisis and provide all documentation needed for final grant approval.

Notice to Applicants:
It is your responsibility to make sure we receive all documentation. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, Incomplete applications will not be processed or considered. Please take your time when completing the application process and make sure all information is included.

If your cat does not have one of these conditions listed, please do not submit the information or application.   The conditions include:
  • Kidney disease
  • Heart disease or cardiac related condition
  • Thyroid disease
  • Mobility impairment
  • Neurological Condition.

We can't consider applications for any other medical conditions or emergency treatment needed and these applications will not be processed or responded to.
